Mission and Vision
Water is a priority on the economic agenda. At this time, there is a huge demand for innovative technologies and products. For entrepreneurs in the water sector, this offers significant opportunities in the chain of knowledge-capabilities-monetisation. To take these steps in the water chain, (confidential) experiments are required.
To provide for this, the Hogeschool VHL and the Water Alliance have taken the initiative of setting up the Waterapplicatiecentrum on the WaterCampus in Leeuwarden. The WAC facilitates the development of new technologies - from laboratory workbench to pilot-scale applications.
The WAC's mission is to contribute to the development of a high-value cluster in the area of water technology and the further completion of the WaterCampus in Leeuwarden.
The WAC is built on 2 cornerstones:
1. WAC facilities for businesses and other organisations that don't have facilities themselves to perform (test-bench) research.
2. WAC facilities for students at colleges, who can then take practical courses, conduct experiments and perform research together with the businesses community on the newest technologies using bench-tests, pilots and practical experiments.
In short: the WAC facilitates the business community and education with infrastructure and equipment for conducting research!
